CNRS France

Dr Akiko Kato is a research engineer at the Centre d’Etudes Biologiques de Chizé (CNRS-La Rochelle University, France). Since the start of her career, she has used bio-logging techniques to study the ecology, behaviour, and physiology of seabirds, focusing on how they adapt to changing environments. She leads long-term bio-logging programs of Adélie and little penguins using advanced bio-logging tools and stays at the forefront of new data-logging technologies and analytical methods to deepen understanding of seabird responses to environmental change.
